Galvanised aluminium and magnesium weights and precautions

Aluminium, zinc and magnesium plating is available in a range of plating weights from 100g/m2 to 180g/m2, with common plating weights of 150g/m2, coded AZM150, and 100g/m2, coded AZM100.

Economy

Since the density of Al-Zn-Mg alloy plating is less than that of zinc, the unfolded area of Al-Zn-Mg plated steel sheet is more than 3% larger than that of galvanised steel sheet and comparable to that of Al-Zn-plated steel sheet in the case of the same weight and the same thickness of plating.

Uses of aluminium-zinc-magnesium-plated steel sheet

Aluminium-zinc-magnesium plated steel sheet can be used directly as a finished product or as a substrate for colour coated sheet, mainly used for roof and wall materials of steel structure building enclosure system, and its final applications include roof, wall, ceiling, roller shutter door and so on of industrial plants, power plants, stadiums, airports, exhibition halls or civil residential buildings. Meanwhile, its excellent formability and ductility can also be applied to manufacturing industries, such as pipelines, furniture, electrical appliances back panels, auto parts, etc.

Precautions

Storage: Place in a dry, well-ventilated room with no chemical pollutants around. If placed outdoors, it should be covered by rain cloth. It is also not suitable to be placed in the place with easy dew and big temperature difference.

Transportation: Steel coils should be correctly bundled and fixed during transportation, the position of steel coils should be reasonably arranged, and the rain cloth should be covered to ensure the safety of transportation. After extracting the steel coil from the warehouse, the original packaging of the steel coil should be maintained during transport, and the cushion wood under the steel coil should not be removed. Vertical rolls should be kept upright, and the rolls should not be laid horizontally or turned upside down. In order to avoid injury to the coil, care should be taken when handling, loading and unloading the coil. Rubber seats should be installed on the handling truck or trailer, and rubber pads should be installed at the contact point between the chain and the steel coil to avoid surface abrasion caused by friction of the steel plate during transport.

Slitting: The width of the slit steel coil should be in accordance with the corresponding tolerance to avoid burrs on the edges, and defects such as creases, dents, scratches, indentations, adhesion of foreign objects and other defects affecting the subsequent processing and use should not be allowed to occur.
